Islanders should use those assets you used to get Pesce, to get another star caliber forward. Their D Corp is already good as is.

i like the idea, but i rather get a wing on that fort line instead of pesce. our d core is fine and mayfield isn’t hard to replace

This is what I disagree the most with to be honest. Their offensive core is actually better than their dcore in my opinion. Their powerplay and offense as a whole is completely held back by their awful defense. They are severely missing devon towes and nick leddy from the past

Personally I actually think our offense is fine and our defense is what needs major improvement. Everything starts with the backend including the offense. We are majorly missing a Right Handed puck moving dman. An offensive core of Nelson, Barzal, Horvat, Lee, Palmeri, Engvall, Pageau and Whalstrom has more than enough fire power. The issue is we can't get out of our defensive zone or set up a power play bc of the D

Cost to dump Bailey will be a 2nd straight up. I can't see the Hawks taking that 2nd 2 drafts out and then throwing in a 4th going back.

While I don't think it will cost as much as people think due to the fact theres only 1 year left on his deal, he isn't even owed his whole contract for the season and he could actually be beneficial to a young team like the Blackhawks if the price is a straight up 2nd I think the Islanders do it anyway (however I don't know if that will be the case)

Hawks just took Zaitsev a few months ago and got the #44OA THIS draft (not 2 out) and a future 4th. Zaitsev was a 1/4er of a year extra (the time after the TDL this season) and a 1.25 years of 4.5 cap and salary. To me, that future 4th covered the 1/4er of season and the 2nd covered the full season after that. While Bailey is owed less real money at 3.5, his cap hit is higher than Zaitsev. Average the real money owed and cap hit to get 4.25 which is right in Zaitsev precident range and that is a 2nd round pick in value to dump. Maybe someone else will take Bailey for the equivalent of a real low future 2nd, but I doubt it will be the Hawks. The problem for the Isles is that there are a handful of teams capable of taking the full Bailey cap hit and not all of them have the financial appetite to be buying draft picks (ie Arizona is a mess until they get a rink and can actually sell more than 4600 tickets a game)
