The contracts you gave to the UFA's are fine, Klingberg is surprising.. it will be shocking if Chicago is a big time player in free agency this year

Its unlikely that any of these FA end up in Chicago.

why do this?
so the Hawks can finish 11th-13th in the Western conference?

Hawks need to suck for another year , get another top pick then hit the free agency market in 2024-25. cap will go up, more money to spend and that free agency class is 1000% better. Bowman is gone, stop with these ridiculous signings. Klingberg at 7M per year .. come on. that's a waste of cap space. Ghost and Killorn at 5M per year .. these guys won't be around when the Hawks become competitive again. all this is doing is giving them a team that won't be bad enough to get a top 5 pick and won't be good enough to make the playoffs. on top of that it gives less ice time to the young prospects that need that time and experience to develop and grow.
