Quoting: Sso
Yes, I am still new, no worry about the harshness, I love to learn my mistake it will take time to be a realistic manager. In 6 month time, everyone would love my roster (hopefully).
About myself, all my life I am a big habs fan, second is the Sabres, I live in Toronto never a Leaf fan, lol why? two names, Harold Ballard and Eddie Shack. Yep! Sad....
Hopefully! Think the biggest issue I've gathered (from both Detroit's and Chicago's build) is that you're trying to get to the cap ceiling when, in reality, sometimes it's better to just be just above the cap floor.
Signings like this will prevent extensions for Seider (9M+) and Raymond (6M+). Length of contract requires just as much consideration as the actual AAV. Then you gotta worry about other prospects in 3 something years, blahblahblah.
Obviously I assume you're not touching trades for a reason, but once you get far enough in your learning, you'll acquire it -- realistic trades can change a team's perspective so much. Something like Detroit; their entire trajectory could change just by acquiring two star players with assets that aren't even on the roster.
Not to say it's wise to do that, but, trades are like toying with Pandora's box.
As for yourself; a wee-bit surprising, but certainly not outrageous. I'm a little too young to know those names, but, each person has their reasons. Obviously, I'm a Detroit fan as I am from the area, but I'm also a Sabres as my father is from that area. It's more of a 1A Detroit, 2B Sabres.
