Toffoli deals are the new range for CAR. Value keeps going up for some reason. Canes don’t want him at that price so please look elsewhere.

For a 70 point player I'd say that's rather cheap, especially if he signs an extension.

Sure, other teams might spend what you’re looking for. Very unlikely to be the canes so better off sending him elsewhere.

They won't want to sign a 30+ yo to an extension before he plays a game for them. While the ask is reasonable, CAR has a frugal GM and 2C is probably a more pressing need until Necas or KK takes that spot permanently.

I think Western conference teams, especially those in western provinces, do have some disadvantage just based on travel schedule. But it’s not like it’s just teams in Alberta…whole conference has to deal with it.

Whereas if you are in the Northeastern US, after half your road games, you can return home and sleep in your own bed.

(And VGK, DAL have tax advantage)

Sabres are probably not interested for a couple of reasons.
1) They have a log jam at LD and are probably looking for a defensively minded RD to pair with Power. Speaking of Power him and Dahlin are going to probably getting signed to 8-year deals this offseason (8x10 and 8x8.5 or something) so do they really want to add another guy who is also in need of his big contract at 26.
2) Krebs has been coming into his own and has definitely rounded out his defensive game this year. He is also cost controlled for a while.
