Not sure we are there yet. Everyone is in a holding pattern. No one wants to set the cap dump market, but everyone needs the space. They don't want to admit what it is gonna cost to move contracts out. With how thin the UFA market is, there aren't any no brainer replacements for a lot of teams. I think we will get there though. Once the first few domino's fall, the mad scramble will begin. That, or everyone will just run it back and wait for the cap to start going up next summer.

I agree. I see dominoes falling leading up to the draft. I think there will be a couple of surprises for some fan bases. I am excited to see what the rest of the month brings.

Easily and quickly, with prejudice.

With prejudice? Really? Good luck to the Caps. I am interested to see what they do.

Have a good day

2 fourth liners for a top center prospect and a top 6 winger? Yeah Caps won't do that. They'll probably give Mantha another chance with a good coach.

Most stories show the Caps looking to move on from Mantha as a cap dump. Proposals I have seen here usually show a 2nd going with him for future considerations. I wanted to try to change it up. Mantha has been less than stellar in Washington, and figured that Lapierre might be an option. Just a guess that allows the Caps to hold onto draft capital and gain a potential flip player in Blackwell (maybe for a pick), and a bottom 6 winger in Entwistle.

I respect that you aren't a fan of the deal. I crafted it from the fact that cap space is at a premium, so I see a few deals that leave us scratching our heads as to the return for an established player. I appreciate your feedback

I did preface at the beginning that these were cap dump thoughts, which often aren't viewed as a fair conventional trade.

I will break out the magic 8 ball and see what it says, haha
