Description

By the reports MTL might try to move up in the draft, but it sounds like MTL isn't that pressed to keep the #5 pick is they have to stay there so they drop back 3 spots to grab one of Reinbacher, Leonard, or Benson they are all reported to like a lot. For doing so they get Lapierre, a top 6 center prospect, that could be NHL ready this summer but probably needs 1 year in the AHL as the top center to really develop. Lapierre with Caufield on his wing could be a dangerous combo. A late 2024 2nd is sent to the Caps to make up the difference of value.

No, Montreal will keep their choice for Reinbacher.

But I have another trade proposition with the Caps:

Lapierre sounds like an interesting prospect, but he is always injured. I think based on his overall health and the lost development as a result, the Habs have to pass.

He hasn't been hurt in years. Had a great year in HER considering he was getting 3C time and 2nd PP unit time. Hopefully they give him 1C time next season so he pops.

30 points in 60 games in the AHL. Not bad. But I kinda expect that from Kidney next season. I dunno if I believe in Lapierre's upside
