Those are the draft picks they got for Hronek, but Kasper was the 8th overall pick just last year, so I think that’s too much to give up for a guy who’ll probably be available in a year as a UFA, and who they’ll have to give big money to regardless of how they acquire him.

I heard the main reason DeBrincat didn’t want to sign in Ottawa was because of the uncertainty around ownership and management. It sounds like those things could be settled soon, so if he was sincere about that then maybe they won’t be so eager to deal him.

DET hangs up quickly. Not giving up Kasper AND more. NYI 1st (17th), a 2nd (2023) and a decent prospect/player (Zadina or Johansson) would be roughly a fair price.
