Description
Vegas average 6’2 in height and 220 pounds. That’s why every team now needs to focus. Being big is what you Gotta be. Go listen to the 32 Thoughts podcast on YouTube the latest one after the Stanley Cup. It explains everything perfectly in detail if you listen and focus deeply. It’s a very good highly educated video. I would really recommend it to everyone. WE NEED GUYS TO SHOW EMOTION, AND BE ANNOYING AS F ANG ALL OF THEM NEED TO SHOW FING PASSION AND CARE ACTUALLY. NO EMOTION ON BENCH, always smiling and laughing at everything, etc Man this list is DEEP TBH LOL
GROW SOME BA**S
US LEAF FANS SHOULDN'T GIVE A FLYING F NXT YR TILL PLAYOFFS!

Now into my detail, even though we know this CORE 4 doesn't work as the main reason why I said 6'2 average height and 220 pound average is for this point. It is impossible to have depth like Vegas. It is very important to have depth and you look at Vegas and all of their lines they felt comfortable playing against any line and everyteam they faced too according to Cassidy. Some key pieces for them (besides the obvi players), were Amadio and Howden had 10 points, Stephenson 20, Barbashev had 18, and Nic Roy had 11 points. Just like Vegas in the reg.season, their leading point-getter WAS EICHEL WITH 66 POINTS! So in reality they were playing Stanley Cup hockey all along and were prepared like crazy. They also blocked the most shots ever in the SCF WITH 171 BLOCK SHOTS... SESSSSHHHHHH! Another key element that is overlooked I think is their defense is SO FING BIG, that the smart teams in the NHL will follow I bet.

One more thought about the core 4 and how I COULD SEE A MOVE. If Nylander(BC I THINK he gets done 1st honestly and CJ also said that too) gives them a number in the HIGH 9'S we have to make a move BC there is no possible way this team would be under the cap even IF theres a 5M increase in cap next yr BC MATTHEW'S(IF SIGNED) AND NYLANDER gets a raise and say Matthews around 13-14.5M on either a long term or short term contract and say Nylander in the 8's
that's an estimate of 5-6ishM right there in the 5M increase

This is realistic because from what it sounds they're going to run this stupid S*** back again (DOESN'T WORK!) but I will try to get the best team possible with those ideas in mind. PLEASE DON'T BE MAD AS I'M doing this FOR FUN and just want your other thoughts on what teams will do to be prepared for NEXT YEAR PLAYOFFS. KEEP IN MIND REG.SEASON ISN'T PLAYOFFS BC I'M a fan of THIS FING TEAM HAHAHA. PEACE AND LOVE FELLOW GENERAL MANAGERS!

Also I get that Peace deal may not work but would throw RFA rights of Sammy or another prospect like Voit

I was also thinking that too but well see. Whoever your team is, what do you want to be done to prepare for next years playoffs?

Of course fans are going to watch Vegas and say "big = win", but completely neglect the fact that the main reason they won was because they acquired a superstar centre. The Panthers only made it as far as they did because they acquired a superstar in Tkachuck (and got timely goaltending from Bob).

Anyways, most Leafs fans want to associate getting big with trading one of the core 4. Not saying that's what you want to do, but I know for a fact most fans are going to think trading Marner/Nylander so we can sign two defenceman that are 6'4 and can't skate is the solution.

I also don't like the idea of trading for Pesce. I've explained it many times on this site before and don't wanna type it all out again. In short, his best years are behind him (even though he's still good), will cost a lot to acquire, and will command a massive extension.

Holy recency bias. Teams win different ways, ridiculous to emulate Vegas because Colorado won playing a different style from Tampa from Washington etc etc. Vegas were beneficiaries of a ridiculous expansion draft and from there they built a solid team with depth; no one could repeat that - not even the Kraken. I won’t comment on the UFA signings, to each his own 🤷🏻 but That Pesce trade is straight up certifiable.
