I think Lafreniere just needs some time. That's not a bad haul for Philly even though they're taking on Goodrow's contract.

Lol Konecny has 7 less even strength goals than Lafreniere since Lafreniere entered the league. The conversation around this kind of deal would be Konecny, 7OA (+ more) for Lafreniere and Goodrow. And even then it doesn't make sense for NYR.

Konecny is a small scoring winger that doesn't drive play. If you've been paying attention for the last 5 years or so, you'd know they aren't worth much. Might as well get Garland from VAN for nothing. Taylor Hall was just given away. Konecny is going to ask for a raise in 2 years. There are value deals to be had that are comparable in impact to Konecny that won't cost anything. Lafreniere is already doing what Konecny does, he's just not given the same opportunities as consistently as Konecny. Him being the best player Philly has doesn't make him more valuable than he is.

I don't hate the concept of Laf being a part of a trade for Konecny, But if that's what it's gonna take to acquire Konecny I don't see how it's worth it.
