Description
Just how much is enough for a 100 point scoring D-man that just won Norris, but is still under pretty bad contract?

There's absolutely zero precedent to any of this. We've seen recently that cap space is, once again, immensely valuable during offseason, meaning whatever value Karlsson had gotten, it's certainly diminished due to his bloated contract.

I personally view Seattle as the best target for a EK trade, cuz they could use a PP quarterback, and have funds to take EK in, and they definitely have assets to make things work.

It just bothers me...does Karlsson have proper trade value that should be invested into...or can SEA get him for like a 3rd round pick with a part of the contract eaten away, similar to Brent Burns for instance?

I think it's somewhere between. I think a proper return for EK is two solid picks, and some cap exchange. SJ can deal the assets they gain here for futures later down the line.

With the STL trade, they recoup some of the picks and add a D-man.

I'm not gonna lie, I think EK peaked here. He's 33 and has a rough injury history. I wouldn't move the house for him

Sharks supposedly want a good prospect.

I'm guessing more retention will happen (probably 3.5) and a good prospect needs to be there.

While Sprong is good the blues are not in the market for more wingers. We already have enough so he isn't a fit for us

Why on Earth would the Blues ever consider that?
