That is way too much of an overpay for Laughton. I understand his value/the value of 50% retention for 2 years, but that price would not be smart asset management from the Leafs

If you drop the retention the Flyers would agree. They aren't in a space to give up a retention slot for Laughton since we have Hayes eating one and DeAngelo is certainly going to be eating another one.
