Because we save 6 million dollars and get a RW under league minimum who could score 30 goals on our 2nd line.

I think the Hawks don't do either deal; certainly not for one year of Nylander. Basically, the Hawks will ascertain the true value of Raddysh and Katchouk this year. I think they both could blossom into terrific, low-cost controlled players this season, which would give them terrific value at the TDL.

Cheers

Trying to rush a rebuild is dumb. Plus look where you’ve got reichel. Buried in bottom 6 is definitely not setting him up for success. And Korchinski won’t start the season I’d be very suprised. Rushing him into the nhl will make him fail. Jokiharju and boqvist would be better defenders if they weren’t rushed.

Hawks don't make the Nylander trade. They aren't paying anybody $9m or $10m a year long term until they know exactly what holes they need to fill once all these prospects mature. Kings definitely decline that pathetic offer for Arvidsson.

I said they’d flip him for a 1st and a prospect. It’s an absolute bargain for them to turn a late 1st in 2024 into a 2024 1st and a top prospect, which is what you get at the deadline. You’re telling me you’d rather have TB 1st and Raddysh over another 1st and a top prospect? It’s basically trading a 1st to add a 1st AND a prospect.

It would be trading a late 1st for another late 1st, because nobody with a high 1st is going to be in a position to trade for Nylander. Plus, I'd rather keep Raddysh and move him at the deadline. No need for Chicago to spend the extra money on Nylander's salary just to end up with what they had in the first place.

Yep. That's what I'm telling you. No guarantee that the '24 1st Hawks get in this deadline deal for Nylander is any better than the TBL 1st they already have. And will the prospect be better than TRad? Who knows? Younger, sure. Better, who knows. And what happens if Nylander gets hurt? I get your thinking, but the upside for the Hawks isn't as great as you think it is.
