I think Debrincat stated he would only sign extensions with a couple of teams and I think the other teams other than Detroit can't afford him or don't have a desire. I'm not totally sure on that though. I don't think any team is going to give up the asking price for a player not willing to extend. I think Yzerman knows this and is playing hardball or is just going to wait it out for another year.

IMO, the Wings were never "in" on him. Don't know the Isles are either.. Gee, you're paying UFA him UFA money, and giving up four assets. Just spend money or a UFA this year or next.
