Description
The future is looking bright in Chicago as they addressed their biggest hole in the prospect group, getting their future #1 and #2 centers in this draft. But there are holes needing to be filled on this team. Their biggest hole now is the RHD, and they need to target a #1 defensemen, whether it's for the left or right side. Korchinski is a great prospect, but I don't think he's going to be a franchise #1 defensemen. RN Sam Rinzel is pretty much the only right shot defensemen in the system and I don't think he's going to be anything better than a 2nd to 3rd pairing defensemen.

The Blackhawks have good prospects on the wing in Nazar and Reichel, but not a franchise changing winger and that's also a hole Chicago is going to have to address in future drafts. Imo the foward core would be complete with a top power forward winger to play alongside Bedard.

Another note: the past two drafts the Blackhawks have been building around speed and that's great, but the player they're drafting are pretty small. In the NHL, you need size and physicality to win in the long run. It's important that they look to add size, physical, grittiness, puck chasing players with future picks to complement the smaller speeder players the Blackhawks have right now.

Goaltending: It's not the Biggest concern and Commesso has been great, but he's no Wallestedt or Askarov.

Just my 2 cents a power forward is almost always the hardest to project through the draft unless they are a top of the draft prospect. It’s much easier to acquire those types through trades (maybe that’s why Kyle D is hoarding picks late in the future). The next priority as you said should be a number 1 RD to take over for Jones. Maybe it’ll work out in 24… I know nothing about that draft.

Currently, 3 of the top 10 guys for next year are RHD. Artyom Levshunov at the top. Definitely a draft I have circled for defensemen. Didn't want to sniff a D-man in the first 3 rounds this year for that reason

I agree.... About my point about the power foward, I was pretty broad. But Chicago needs to add a top winger prospect. Reichel and Nazar are great prospect but I don't think they'll end up as that top line winger. With that being said, Chicago doesn't have that top forward prospect that has size, physicality, puck chasing abilities to get the puck in hard areas. I'm basically describing Ryan Leonard, whose one of my favorite prospects and the caps are so lucky to have him. But I'd want a prospect like that, even though that really rare. Chicago definitely should address the defense though with there next pick.

2024, I don't know at all too. All I've heard about it, is that it's supposed to be defensive deep.
