Description

Assuming they sign Colton and Meyers for just over 4M AAV combined, seems like they will have around 3.4M in cap space to add a bottom 6 forward and a bottom pair D man. Depending on if they think Meyers can play C full time the forward could be either a C or RW and depending on if they play one of the LHD on the right side they can either sign a LD or RD for the 3rd pair (or use a guy like Malinski)

Top UFA target in this price range for me would be Calvin De Haan on defense. On offense there are quite a few guys who could be a fit so it really depends on who would sign the best value deal. I was hoping for Hathaway but he was just scooped up

I'm not the best at gauging talent on players from bad teams (tough to determine what is the fault of the player vs the players around him) but he had the worst 5v5 xGF% among Ducks D last year. I'm not so sure about him

But we did qualify him to retain his rights. I think they are hoping that a year in his home country will boost his confidence. Ceiling on him is still arguably higher than Newhook. Basement is.......well what we've seen so far in Loveland.

Sounds like they believe I'm Malinski. I'm not writing his name in pen, but it seems like he'll have a shot at that last spot, which leaves 2.5 or so for a forward. Or they might roll with JLF or OO in that spot and then see what's what at the deadline.
