I like Foegele a lot and would happily take him and that pick for a year, but the Devils probably won’t have the cap to fit him in. Besides, Foote still has a fair amount of upside left in him, will likely be a regular in the Devils bottom six this year.

Alright, now make a competitive offer for Pesce. Cause if a 1st is all it would have taken, he would already be gone.

If the Karlsson thing falls through you can keep him. However, if it doesn’t fall through you will be forced to trade him, meaning teams who want him are in the stronger position.

Why would they be forced to trade Pesce? If they need cap space, Skjei would be moved well before Pesce. Skjei clears more room, and isn’t as important as Pesce with the Orlov signing making him a little redundant. Pesce also gives the Canes more roster flexibility, as he has had success playing both sides of the ice, so if need be, he could play Skjei’s role on the left side. Skjei would also return a nice package, with the starting point being a 1st and a good prospect more than like. Pesce actively is seeking an extension with the Canes, so again, why would the Canes move him.

The notion that the Canes have no other choice but to move Pesce if they bring in EK, and give him up for pennies on the dollar no less, is a pure fantasy. Ultimately, the Canes have the most power, as they still have Pesce under contract. You either give up what the Canes are asking for, or Pesce doesn’t get moved. And like I had said in my previous post, if the Canes were only asking for a 1st for Pesce, he would have been gone before the end of the first round of the draft, if not sooner.

Nobody is willing to take a risk on a rental player that’s why nobody has offered a 1st for pesce lol stop overvaluing ur own players he’s gonna be asking for 7M long term and that’s something nobody wants to do not even the canes

So pesce isn’t worth a first? Lol. Remind me what Gavrikov and countless others fetched at the TDL last year and in years past. 1st++ typically. Pesce is younger cheaper and better than a lot of those guys like Gav, Chiarot, Savard, etc.

Can just treat him as their own rental and roll

Slavin burns
Orlov pesce
Skjei chatty

No issue with that.

Well for one it’s widely reported that Deangelo will be coming back there. If that means no EK then they’d keep Pesce. However, if you are adding EK and Deangelo then Pesce goes unless you believe they’d foolishly trade Burns.
