Gotta think it'll cost more to dump Granlund.

With the buyout window closed, the opportune time to dump Granlund on CHI has passed. Now, we're looking at an 2-yr cap hit of $5mm AAV for a guy who's not a 3rd liner, and no longer good enough to be a 2nd liner. I think CHI's interest depended solely on the picks that'd have come with him. Hard to relate how disinterested I am in acquiring him now, for anything close to what PIT will offer.

I’d like to think Pittsburgh is working hard on acquiring Karlsson. I have no clue how but I’d assume they need to make a few trades to have cap room plus have enough to give San Jose for a good trade.

It’s not going to happen and it really shouldn’t. They have no reason to trade him unless they’re getting something of value. All we can offer are picks that we desperately need and can’t afford to lose. Why would they take our junk AND retain substantially on him for no reward? Because he wants a trade? Who cares what he wants it’s about what they can get.
