Because your guys are better…right…like every American fan! You know our D guy is better at everything than Samulsson and prospects are the same

Why the hell not…? Hanifin is proven for nearly 600 games…Samuelsson is NOT proven yet…just cheaper…you want more puck-moving and scoring from D, you definitely take Hanifin…the prospects are equal except the NY state guy gets to go home…Quinn is not better

Samuelson is in year 2 of his 8 year deal. They gave him that deal because they believe in him, and he looked really solid on their 1st pair with Dahlin. Right now with that contract he absolutely has more value than Hanifin.

Quinn is currently the better prospect. Nor by much though

LMAO as you have nothing to support your points except guesses vs hard statistics I have…and Quinn is just older, not better

Quinn and Coronato are a toss up yes but one is currently playing in the NHL regularly and doing well. It's like saying arguing Coronato vs Mercer. So at this point in time I definitely give the edge to Quinn

Nothing to support my point? 7 years >> 1 year, that's literally not debatable. Its also fact that Samuelsson played on the 1st pairing this most recent season, the same season Dahlin had a monster breakout year.

It’s about contractual value quite clearly. Why would we trade long term security for a guy who can walk in a year? Quinn was the 8th overall pick not long ago and has done nothing to show that it was a bad pick. It just makes no sense go look elsewhere if you’re butthurt.

I would assume Hanifin I immediately re-signed for 7 years in Buffalo…I should have said so

That doesn't change his trade value though

So what would you change to make it work with the 4 current players? Hani is still a better player than Samuelson.

There's just no reason for us to make that trade and pay much more money to hanifin when were about to spend somewhere close to 20 mill on Dahlin and Power. On top of it, it would still leave us without a RHD and we still have the same problem we had before. Its not a fit for buffalo. If cgy wants to move Andersson its a different story, but it is my understanding that they won't do that.
