I don’t think you understand his waivers work. It will also cost a lot more for Karlsson. Don’t expect any team to retain 2 mil for several years for a measly 2026 3rd

San Jose is eating around 14 million for a washed up Poulin and a couple of late round picks. Hm for some weird reason I don’t see that working out for them.

Moving all of that only to add EK and a cooked 1st rounder is brutal. Also the penguins have 4 goalies as is on 1way deal as is and you can't bury or buyout Carter.

I like this. I like how you put Granlund in the top 6 specifically. He is horrible defensively and is not a finisher. Would serve no role in the bottom 6 and would just tank any line that's meant to be defensive. If were keeping him then he should 100% be in top 6. I still think he can be somewhat productive there. Have him setting up Malkin and Smith/Rust.

If Zadina clears waivers he just stays in Detroits system. It’s not a buyout situation but I see the confusion.

Yea my mistake, I’d still be in on it to take the player on that contract for free though.

Also, I can’t see it costing much more then what I have hear unless you twinkle around the retention numbers. And $2m retained for a third seems reasonable, if anything you throw in a 4th and a 5th and I see it being reasonable. $2m itself is equal to a 4th liner’s salary and you are taking back 2 picks for free.

By no means is Poulin washed up, he’s just had a lengthy development process where he needs time and with a team like San Jose they’ll give him that time and they could certainly turn his career around. You’re wrong.

“Only EK and a cooked first rounder”

Yes, moving those picks for a Norris winning, 100 point defenseman who has rediscovered every inch of his game and would thrive in our system.

I wouldn’t go as far as to describe Zadina as “cooked” he actually is coming off of a injury riddled year playing only 30 games, for any player in the league that’s going to be a tough obstacle to produce off numerous injuries in the same season at that rate.

Prior to this past season, he’s coming off a near 30 point season in 74 games posting 10g and 14a playing buried bottom 6 minutes and being surrounded by all the wrong line mates for him to at least turn his ship around in his career.

As for the goalie situation, that’s fine that can be solved by having the Dell contract being 2 ways and Carter can be sent down to the minors and his salary will stay the same

Right I was mistaken, though I’d still jump on that off waivers if I were the Pens

Zadina is not good, Detroit has been trying to move him all offseason. These trades still don't give you a 3C that can step up to top 6 if Sid/Geno get hurt.

Karlsson is obviously great offensively but he's terrible defensively.

If Carolina really wants Karlsson they'll outbid the penguins.

Apparently Pens are out of the mix now for Karlsson. Pretty brutal. Not feeling great about the team at the moment.

He would fall so far down the depth chart in SJ he would barely see Barracuda ice. Sharks’ prospect pool is the Mariana Trench compared to Pittsburgh’s lol.
