Gibson makes a lot of sense for Buffalo IMO. Buffalo needs a guy who can shelter Levi by playing 50-60 games a year, rushing a goaltender is the #1 way to ruin their development. Gibson's also better than his save percentage has suggested over recent years, especially this one. Anaheim's defense was pretty bad over the previous couple years but this most recent season it was absolutely brutal. This year he faced on average nearly 40 shots a night which is insane, the puck pretty much never left his end of the ice.

While I do think it's a good fit for Buffalo I think the return is a bit off though

I don't think there are many teams who can afford Gibson.
And it's public knowledge he wants out.

Anaheim is in a tough position and his value truly couldn't be any lower right now. I think the above package is a gift.

I think it's going to end up with a couple picks in the 2-4 range and probably taking a contract back.
But I could be surprised

I think you misunderstand. I think the base of the package would be Olofsson + Jokiharju + like Jacob Bryson for Gibson. I doubt they would include Henrique as hitting the cap floor is still a must

The Sabres don't need Henrique - they're already loaded with centers and have no forward spots open.

Right now the 2 biggest thing Anaheim needs is NHL caliber defensemen to shelter their young guys. Helleson may be able to make the jump but having too many rookies can hurt development too. If they are to move Gibson then they will also need to address goaltending as well to shelter Dostal

Im aware. I was not arguing against that in any way, I was saying why Anaheim wouldn't include him
