I think Roslovic could be a real possibility, but I doubt CBJ is willing to eat any cap, they're pretty close to the cap, and i think they're going to be a really competitive team this year, so no reason for them to eat.

Then you take on the full cap hit, pay a 4th or 5th to do so, take out the Stars trade and sign a veteran to scratch for $800k and have Ruhwedel play on the third pair in replacement of Hakanpää

Though I disagree, I think for this kinda value CBJ bites the bullet and takes the deal. Not many other teams are going to give up that 3rd for Roslovic.

I don’t see anything of need for San Jose in that trade outside of the picks. Easy decline.

Sharks are going to get into a weird situation. Karlsson's not going to Waive his NMC to go to any team which but has requested a trade out of SJS. They'll obviously negotiate with a team but i think his return his going to be much less than sharks fans expect. Whether that's Pittsburgh or another team, no one is going to give up much knowing he wants to leave and his NMC gives him the upper hand on what team he goes to.

Completely agree, and the fact that Sharks fans magically think that they can trade Karlsson who makes more then $10m to a contender (of which all are to the cap or close to it) and not expect to take on any cap in return, but instead get the entire farm of prospects, 6 first and second round picks and then some. It’s just not gonna happen. When the trade rolls in, they’ll learn it the hard way though.

Pens fans are beyond delusional on this site. Thinking SJ is gifting them the Norris winner for a literal bucket of unwanteds with unprecedented retention.

Be better than Leafs, Oilers and Habs fans. Grier and the sharks do not exist to help your senior citizen franchise squeak back into the playoffs.

Ah the most delusional pens fan on CF agrees with something that supports his agenda. What a surprise.

I absolutely think high picks will go to the sharks 100%, but most likely the rest of the return won't be much of anything, maybe a prospect, but some bad cap contracts are 100% coming back to SJS given Karlsson's 11.5m hit, even with retention lol

I'm not saying that he's coming to the penguins with my comment, i'm simply saying regardless of where he goes the sharks aren't going to get the return their fans want. Karlsson has the leverage here.

Agreed. Of course they’re getting a first and second and probably a third as the base. The rest can go any which way. It’s also Grier Vs. Dubas here and as you said Karlsson and Dubas have all the leverage. If he wants to be a Penguin, he’s going to be a Penguin. And if Dubas can get him, he’s getting him.

Unless the reports of EK wanting out of SJ, He will go for under value. I Any of the 3 teams rumored to be involved will be giving up at least a cap dump player, "prospect", and a 1st and 2nd round pick. Anything else will be dependant on how much salary the sharks keep and if a third team is involved. The deal here is probably closer to actuality than anyone in SJ would like.

Grier has to convince the owner that he should pay $15.2m for a star player to not play for the organization
otherwise EK is going to keep playing in SJ despite wanting to go to a contender. He has said his family is quite happy there so there's not a rush
don't think this package gets it done; I think it'll involve multiple 1sts
definitely cap dumps or near cap dumps expected to come back in any EK trade at the price of getting better picks and prospects.
