Description

*NOTE* no retention by Det, just needed to get Zadina on Bos as he has not terminated his contract (yet) - it is just a free agent signing for 1M

Bergeron: Centennial season. Stop-gap for 1 more year. Add a $500,00 performance bonus (like lucic) that will count towards next years cap. I'm confident he will come back for cheap...makes total sense.

Zadina: 2yr, 1M prove it deal...if teams passed on him for 1.8, I'm sure he will take 1M playing with Zacha and Pasta (two of his fellow countrymen, I may add). Can slot him 3LW with Coyle and Geekie as well, if needed. Low risk, high reward

Freddy: This is most-case (I think he signs for a tad lower), but I wouldn't expect him to make more than 2.9M on a bridge deal.

Sway: Oettinger (4M), Hart (3.9m) as comparables. I can see Sway getting a bit less than 3.6M, but this is most case scenario as he still isnt their starter.

Minor Leauge depth signings for league min + just above
- Walsh will most likely get a crack at the roster if injuries arise
- Many F options for top-6 (Merk, Lysell, JVR/Geekie), and bottom 6 injuries (Brown, Lauko, Beech, McLaughlin, Steen)
- Bussi as 3rd string

Why would Wings do this, it eats up a retention spot. They could bury him and get the same savings.

It sounds like the Wings and Zadina camp will want a contract termination.

This was just done to sign Zadina, as he is still technically not a free agent yet and couldnt get him on the team any other way. But yes, you are correct...no retaining on Red Wings part

Obv this comes as a contract renegotiation after his contract with Detroit is terminated. I think Boston actually would get some value out of him with Zacha and Pasta. Hopefully pasta could show him the ways

red wings and Zadina agreed to mutual contract termination so he'll be a free agent shortly. I think boston should give him a look

The contracts you gave to Swayman & Frederic make them UFA's at the earliest point possible for them. It nots great asset management.

Absolutely no risk. Bruins should be all over this on a 1 year deal. Lots of Czech influence in Boston so I'd imagine Zadina would sign.

Not much leverage. Dont have the $$ for a long term deal now, so getting them to UFA is inevitable... But every player on a bridge deal goes through this..dont see this as a big problem as they will figure it out when time comes

Oh a 2yr deal and Swayman will still be an RFA?!? All for it! Didn’t think this was the case. Freddy may be a bit more difficult to get a 1 yr but could be a possibility
