Risky Trade for both teams involved but here are the pros and cons.

Ducks PROS: You get a solid return for a player who's requested a trade which isn't always the case. You take on Kuz who could help with coming out of the rebuild and is relatively low risk with only 2 years left on his deal. You also get a defenseman with high upside to quarterback your second PP and who can eat up a lot of minutes if needed. Kuempner is also a stanley cup goaltender.

DUCKS CONS: You lose a top 10 goaltender in the league for a fringe top 20 goaltender. You also lose a top prospect in Gaucher.

CAPS PROS: You get top 10 goaltending as well as a prospect who can elevate your incredibly weak prospect pool and has high upside. You also get a somewhat good return for someone who's requested a trade

CAPS CONS: You lose your number 1 center man and don't fill it with anyone else. Backstrom is also getting older so you're looking very weak up the middle. You also lose Sandin who has high upside and couldve replaced Carlson after he retires and now that hole is left open too.

IMO CAPS lose this trade but not by a lot and could be the best both teams get for the players who have requested trades.

I think the caps would do something like this IF you swap Sandin with Alexeyev

We don't need another center for the next two years, that jus blocks Zegras/McTavish/Carlsson development.

We don't need another offensive LHD, we have better ones in our pipeline, we need defensive D.

We see no reason to move Gaucher who is the kind of player you need for deep playoff runs.
