Significantly below his QO in exchange for a one-way deal. Nothing not to like for a team with salary cap issues.

I love the people who vote "no" for league minimum contracts.

Perhaps people vote "NO" as if it is a bad contract for the player? The poll doesn't specify who's perspective to take.

Fair enough what are you expecting him to sign for though?

I didn't; just stating why someone would vote no possibly.

I think Bjornfot is more valuable than minimum but not in LA who has 2 or 3 guys ahead of him for that 7th spot. Almost anywhere else he would be on an NHL roster easily

Minimum $825k per year (comps being PO Joseph in Pittsburgh) although Bjornfot had way more NHL games under his belt at the same age/contract year so could argue for more than that.

They bought up another year for him without really paying anything to get it. He should have taken a 1 year deal at minimum and worse case scenario is he gets the same thing next year or he has a great year and nabs a 3rd pair spot or fills in great due to injury and can get his bag. There was no benefit to signing a multi-year deal at league minimum.

Most likely the league minimum increases with the cap next year also so he might have missed out just on that alone.
