Blues don't have a need or the cap space for Laughton anymore

Yep ship has sailed in STL. We’ll use a combination of Thomas, Schenn, Hayes, Alexandrov, Dvorsky, Dean over the next 3 years.

Ok they still won't have a need for him. We have our 3C for the next 3 years. in 2024 most likely Bolduc, Dean, and Snuggerud will be pushing for NHL spots. No need to block them

The Blues never did and never will offer a 1st and a 2nd for Laughton straight up.

Packages that were discussed:

Laughton / Sanheim for 1st / 2nd / Krug
and
Hayes / Sanheim for 1st / Krug

The Sanheim swap for Krug was the element bring back the 1st. The value of Laughton was basically the 2nd. 3rd line centers don’t bring back a 1st and a 2nd. Ross Colton, who is better than Laughton, just was traded for a 2nd.

The returns for Laughton and TK don’t make sense to me. They literally could have gotten more than this for Laughton and didn’t trade him so why do it for less? The TK return is just bad because Boucher hasn’t developed at all.

Laughton’s career high in points is 43. If your GM was truly dumb enough to turn down a 1st and a 2nd for him straight up, then your franchise truly is F’d for the next decade, and he has the intelligence of this poster named after him…

And that still pains me I was utterly sickened by that pathetic return.
