Pens say no. Doubt Dubas wants to break up the 87-59 chem or let alone has the capability to

Seattle has plenty of prospects and draft capital of their own they could trade for Konecny if they wanted to try and acquire him. They're not trading Larsson; he's a vital piece of the team and one they wouldn't be able to replace.

I think Dubas would have to know the extensions each player is looking to sign before making any deal. I also wouldn't add that much for Nylander unless his extension is cheaper than Guentzel.

He wouldn't waive anyways.

Pens decline. I'd argue the package is way off, makes zero sense that the leafs get a 1st and 2nd from this but pens just get Nylander?! lol

Sure Nylander is 27 and Jake turns 29 when the season starts, but neither are spring chickens, and both have about equal output, Jake's is slightly better in regular season and far better in playoffs:

Nylander has 521 Games, 430 PTs, 177Gs. (.82PPG)
Guentzel has 453 Games, 414 PTs, 197Gs. (.91PPG)

Nylander in 50 playoff Games = 40 PTs, 17Gs 2 GWGs (.80PPG)
Guentzel in 58 Playoff games = 58 PTs, 34G's 8 GWGs (1PPG)

Try again.

Your not wrong, but Nylander really broke through these last 2 years as an 80-90 point goal scoring threat. Guentzel played with Crosby and Rakell on line 1. Nylander plays 2nd line with JT, and like Engvall or Kerfoot. I see where ur coming from, and it's quite unnecessary for either side anyway, just a mock deal at the end lol

What? Tanev is a solid shutdown D-man, but is injury prone. Brodie on the other hand is a reliable 2-way D man and superb skater, one of the best defensively. The only reason TML does this is for cap space.

Nylander played 383 minutes (54 games) with Matthews and bunting this past season. The rest was a combo of JT at Center and someone else on LW. Last season was mostly with JT at center. Again you're stretching as if he hasn't had a world class center on his line lol (Matthews or JT). Whether he broke through or not, Guentzel has proven he can score at a high clip for multiple seasons now.

It's a lopsided trade in favor for the leafs, mock deal or not lol.

I assume you didn't watch the last part of the season for Toronto. Brodie is in decline and at this point with his cap hit, he will not fetch very much in a trade. Cap space is worth a lot this year, I doubt teams are not going to eat multiple millions in cap space at this point for a 4th. Especially for a team that is in a cap jam and is dealing from a position of weakness.
