I wouldnt do this. Aho is the next Toews (good analytics, raw talent and good two ways but us fans are overcritical then he goes off somewhere else).

Ill just throw a 3rd and 5th for him. Also Buffalo probably would do this without Clutter but idk for sure

yeah i felt like i gave up a little much for him, but his value is weird especially if we ask to retain that much

incredible analytics, just like toews... limited oppurtunity, just like toews... They play the same style too. I have watched every single islanders game of the past 10+ years. Aho isnt gonna become Toews as an Islander, but if he goes to a team with a real coaching staff and is given opportunity, he will become a star. Every single possible way you could assess his game, he excels.

I am rarely this high on players. I love Wahlstrom and he is uber talented, he would likely not become a star on other teams. Barzal is insanely talented but is not the player we thought he could be. I could go on.

Analytics, production, play style, opportunity. Everything lines up

Sabres will just keep olofsson. His value is that low no point of trading him.

Far be it from me to judge the value of Aho, so let's accept the opinion of the Islander experts, but it certainly took a long time for him to make a mark in the NHL.
Let's be clear, one can never underestimate the value of having extra NHL defensemen depth.
The Sabres season was severely impacted when several defensemen played hurt or did not play at all.

Unfortunately, Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson and now Johnson are all Sabre LHD while Clifton, Jokiharju, Johnson and Lyubushkin are their RHD.

So the question remains should the Sabres trade 28 goals to get an upgrade over Stillman and Bryson?
if he is as good as you all say, then the Sabres should at least consider this trade and put both Bryson and Stillman on waivers once the season starts.

Let me make a pitch for the value of Olofsson.
Over the past 4 years he has one more goal than Boeser while playing in fewer games.
Last year he had one more goal than DeBrincat while posting a better +/- -31 v -23.
Obviously he would not get Alex' return, but he is not chopped liver either and at 50% retention (1/3 of DeBrincat's AVV) there will be GM's interested in him.

I never once said that is what Aho's value is. I just said that is what he will become on another team with real opportunity and coaching. Aho probably has value of a 3rd/4th.

Aho is a carbon copy of Toews. Toews got very little value, Aho would be similar. Im just speaking on the islanders behalf
