With a Samsanov contract, I think we are over the cap. And that doesn’t include any bonuses young guys hit.
I would love bringing in Sammy, but that would be in the season, If Elvis struggles.

You have enough cap with Peeke/Roslovic traded in this scenario. Especially if you offload Brodie or Jake Bean, and wherever Tarasov would end up. Definitely makes sense for CBJ or bolster their tandem.

We would have enough for Brodie, but not for a potential Sammy extension.

You currently have around $4m in cap space and you only gain maybe $3.5-3.8m with this trade after Sammy would sign and that’s with 3 active goalies. This is if Sammy makes $4m per as well.

I don’t think we want to be that tight to the cap ceiling. Jamro has always liked flexibility, hence the bjorkstrand trade. He wouldn’t want to commit that much money without having the flexibility to call guys up and send guys down or make a trade.

Does it make sense during the off-season? Not really.

Gambling it all on Woll? I think Samsonov or someone of equal caliber is needed.
