If the canes don’t move pesce this summer he’s not getting moved during the season.

Seems like Pesce would be useful for Carolina’s cup run at the TDL… if he wasn’t there because he was moved then this trade would need more from Detroit.

That makes sense, the only way a contender moves a player out at the TDL is too clear cap to bring in a better player. But with the players on expiring contracts in Carolina, I think it makes more sense to resign players before bringing in new players.

Yep, exactly. And I think the canes are even more extreme in that regard as they’ve shown yearly at this point that they’re typically not big on TDL acquisitions as they like to build their team in the offseason. They were in on Timo last year but I think that’s the exception since they thought he could be a long term add.

Not wanting to spend at the TDL could really help you sustain success long term. You almost always pay a premium at the TDL.
