its Floridas not there's. doing this they are investing in a blue liner, best way to do it imo

Yeah pretty much the reason why. I look at this as Philly giving the Islanders a hugely needed boost up front while helping them clear a little bit of cap space and adding an additional asset they can use to help them later down the road. From Philly's perspective, they just hope that the Islanders are comfortable enough with the rest of their defense and Sorokin to move on from a player that can be a foundational piece on their defense for years to come

True but still I don’t think they should do this because they are rebuilding but also islanders would never accept that trade (or would they...)

There is no good reason for the isles to trade Dobson.

Not sure how many 6-4 puck moving righty d men are out there to replace him, but if I had to guess it’s somewhere between 0 and -3

FWIW:

1) I think the Islanders would be better team for the next 2 years at a minimum after this trade

2) Honestly, I'd add even more to this from Philly's perspective to get this done

1) Without Dobson their blue line falls apart.

2) Only guy I’d be interested in acquiring from PHI is Michov.

The islanders would not be a better team by trading their best offensive defenseman by far, for an inconsistent winger.

Lol this is a terrible take. I wouldn’t trade Michkov for ur entire team let alone just for Dobson. The Isles are already falling apart and will be rebuilding soon anyway might as well try something different

The point he’s making is that Philly is full of mediocre assets, not that Philly should trade Michkov.

Konecny @ 2.75 AAV is a crazy valuable asset, that's basically acquiring a top line forward at the cap hit of a 3rd liner for 2 seasons

The point I’m making is that the isles shouldn’t trade Dobson unless they get an unreal return.

Konecny is a 2nd liner - good player, but not a player you give up a cost controlled high end RHD for

TK is a 1st liner not a top 1st but definitely low 1st at minimum unless ur top line is like Colorado or Edmonton which the Isles isn’t lol

Just because he would be a 1st liner on the isles doesn’t mean he’s a 1st line caliber forward
