Love the value here, but I can't see Zito pulling the trigger. The offense in Florida is quite balanced. 3 lines deep; and where Nylander is an upgrade on either Bennett or Lundell, as a package Nylander does not. Never mind the Bennett intangibles.

The Tkachuck deal may indicate he would look at this (it is a similar construct), but I also don't see the Cats having the cap space to sign Nylander (at a reasonable deal)..... they simply lack the organizational depth to bring in the players to back fill that.

Lastly, and this is strictly my valuation of Bennett and Lundell - I think even with an extension in place, the Leafs need to add to this. Bennett is what he is, but Lundell still has a ceiling he hasn't hit. Moving one of the plethora of forward prospects maybe what it takes...... like a Steeves, whose game fits the Panther's well (would fit the Leafs as well lol).

Lastly, Bennett is a pure C, so Taveres moves to the wing. Lundell is a top 9 forward, and a awefully good C as well, which makes the 3rd line Knies/Domi-Lundell-Jarnkrok.

But that would be IF Zito bites.

That’s a good trade for Toronto but it has to have an extension to Nylander included for it to work

You undervalue Anton Lundell, better to play Bertuzzi on the right and move up Domi in his place so Lundell gets the 3c. Also think a 2nd round pick might be needed for the Panthers to accept

Lundell alone has higher value than Nylander without extension. And he’s way too good for the 4th line, weird that Reaves would play above him in this scenario.

Doubt if Florida has the cap. Really not a good deal for the Florida trading two forwards for one year of Nylander.

No way he has higher value you’re dreaming maybe the year after he was drafted but not anymore he can’t produce at the nhl level

The kid is 21 and only has 2 seasons under his belt. This only shows how underrated he is.

Dude… he’s a sophomore going through the playoffs with 10 points in 21 games and is currently averaging 46 points a season in the NHL playing bottom 6 minutes. He will only get better and better until he’s a defensively brilliant 2 way center
