Description

Wild trade for Kuznetsov at 50% retained. They get a number 1 center.

Wild buyout the final year of Goligoski's contract to open up cap space.

Wild need to move cap space and Gus seems to have taken the starting role from Fleury, he signs a one year contract to avoid arbitration and will either sign an extension at the end of the season or the wild will let him go to bring up Wallstadt.

Fleury pushes for one last cup run with the Devils.

Wallstadt gets starting minutes in the AHL for this season.

As a Caps fan that loves Khusnutdinov, I'd be very interested. Issue is Caps have no room for Addison at all so maybe just remove Addison and the 2nd.

I don't know that anybody is gonna convince MacLellan to eat 1/2 of Kuzys salary for two years. Can't see that happening. He'd be more likely to take less return for less salary retention

Myself also as a caps fan, I would like to see them get Addison and move TVR or Jensen to open up a spot on the right side.

I think that package might make it worth it, Khusnutdinov would be a perfect fit for the capitals

Don't get me wrong, I really like this return. But BMac is pretty stubborn. I dunno, I just personally can't see him agreeing to eat 4 mil, but I could be wrong

Exactly why the Wild won't make a move like this while their cap hell is still around. As Guerin has said, they are building toward something. No need to sacrifice a potentially big part of their future in Khusnutdinov for a couple years of an aging player. I'd like to say I am a realist when it comes to being a Wild fan, and thusly I would say (and Guerin has basically said) that while the buyout penalties are around - this team will not be a true contender. No need to push this many chips on the table until the cap penalties are gone. Only two more seasons to go!

There’s about a 0 percent chance the Wild trade Khusnutdinov for a guy leaving his prime.

Devils need a goalie that can be #2 or #3. Good enough to complete with Schmid, bad enough that they would be able to clear waivers to play in AHL. Daws is hurt and will miss half the season.

I like this return as well, however I can only see the Caps eating up to $2 million of Kuzys deal
