There is no reason and no point for the Blues to do that trade.

You are not getting assets for Murray, you have to pay someone to take him.

Sorry - I can't see any of the trades working. You addressed the Cap issues, but the team got worse and the defense is really small and weak (won't work in playoffs). Krug makes things worse (IMO).
Trade 1: No way Columbus pays for Murray. Teams will want assets to take him on. Leafs will buy him out.
Trade 2: Abysmal return for Toronto.
Trade 3: Leafs don't need another small offensive defenseman. They need someone who can defend and Brodie is a much better defender than Krug. Its going to be hard for St. Louis to move 4 more years at $6.5mm for Krug.

There's a lot of reason for the Blues to do it, not so much for Toronto.

Adding 2 more defenseman to make the amount of 1 way NHL defenseman up to 10 and getting a player that we weren’t going to use and literally gave away already isn’t exactly a lot of reasons to make this trade. If I want to trade Krug I’m packaging him with something to somewhere and getting about the same value but in other positions. The point is to offload the log jam of defenseman we have not add another 2 defenseman so we have 4 more defenseman than spots to give on the ice.

Brodie can play a year in Krug's place and walk free. Timmins could actually have some utility moving forward. Clifford can be buried, waived, even bought out. A year from now, Krug's hit is completely cleared to find a suitable partner for Parayko and there will be another good batch of targets available one way or another. Plus we grabbed an extra 3rd. Sounds like all the reasons to do it, but again Toronto isn't doing that.
