Timmins will clear past waivers at the start of the season (teams would be too focus of their own depth options) , but he'd get claimed if you try again at mid season (due to injuries).

I think that’s a pretty good deal for Colorado. They would miss O’Connor, but Jarnkrok is an upgrade at the same position. More versatile, signed for 2 extra years. Granted he’s $1M more expensive, but still a good value deal. And he should fit nicely with the Avs style. Timmins is definitely an upgrade on MacDermid, and also cost controller for 2 years. I don’t think Colorado was keen on giving him up in the Kuemper trade, but they were stuck with no goalie in a stagnant goalie market that summer.

That's a good point, but still need to clear some cap if Sammy gets anything above ~3.4M

Would love Jarnkrok, but I would be surprised if the Avs move on from DU legend LoC for him though.

Swap LOC out for a draft pick and you have a deal.

Why / how could Sammy get $4M 🤯?! I love him and he had a great year (so so in playoffs) but he went untendered year before and signed FA deal worth $1.8M. No chance he more than doubled his salary - he’s still an RFA…

I personally would be hesitant to give him anything more than 3.4M, but analytics orgs like AFP have him projected at ~5M/yr for 4 yrs, and based on the arbitration filings, he should get at least 3.5M/yr for 1 or 2 yrs. That's nearly double his previous salary.
