Not too familiar with the back and forth here, but I feel like if Labanc gets added with retention there's going to have to be at least one more prospect or high pick thrown in......

I think it’s too late to buy out Granlund (unless they are giving Drew O’Connor $4m before arb).

PIT doesn't need Labanc and it would unnecessarily complicate the deal. Sturm would actually fill a need if they were adding to the deal, but I doubt it.

$4m threshold is for the player being bought out- not the arb. award. Granlund can still get bought out. Doubt Dubas does it though as he seems to not like buyouts and was interested in acquiring Granlund several years ago in TOR.

The 4mil cutoff is for the person being bought out - not the RFA.
