If the penguins are trading Guentzel at the deadline that most likely indicates a rebuild is starting which means Schwartz most likely doesn't waive his NMC to come to Pittsburgh knowing they're going into a rebuild.

However, i'd take that return. Firkus is an intriguing prospect, Schwartz could probably be flipped for more assets and the first.

No idea about the Dane, his stats are meh.

I personally prefer to let Kartye play top line, not because I think Guentzel is worse, but because he won't cost nearly as much while also being far younger, allowing him to be a long term linemate of Beniers, and the gap between Kartye and Guentzel (though definitely large) is not large enough to convince me to buy into this current roster as an actual contender for the next few years, as well as having to lose assets in the process.

There's definitely holes in my argument, even I acknowledge them, but I ignored them mainly because I'm a Guentzel hater.

think you're a little too high on kartye... he fit good for a while but we cant judge him off a small sample size, he will almost certainly fall to some mean, even despite his development.... probably around a 2nd liner. AKA you aren't going to be a deep playoff threat if Kartye is your first line winger
