With so many young players needing new contracts, Seider, Raymond, Rasmussen and Berggren, and then you take away Ras who gets maybe 3.5 and then add Nylander and 10 million it starts to push the Wings cap. Nylander is a very good player but this causes a cap situation. Can not see Yzerman doing this, as he has to improve his defense in a year again.

A trade were TO loses Nylander for much less than he's worth? Shocking

Zero interest in giving up assets for William Nylander, Than paying him $10,000,000 per long term. Moritz Seider will probably come in around $9,000,000 per Lucas Raymond around $6,000,000 to $7,000,000 per depending on what kind of season he has. Michael Rasmussen around $3,500,000 per and Jonatan Berggren at least $1,500,000 to $2,000,000 per depending on what season he has. We really can't afford William Nylander. After we resign Joe Veleno that's going to leave us roughly around $32,000,000 next summer to sign about 11 players.

DET and TOR both say no. The assets coming back to Toronto for Nylander isn't even close to what they should be getting and Nylander will want a big number starting next year and I don't know if that's the greatest fit for Detroit's development as a team

Big mistake to pay Raymond this early. Go to arbitration if he’s eligible and unwilling to sign a shorter deal.

Yeah I totally see the good young players due up for contracts, makes it easier if you have Larkin, debrincat, Nylander locked in but the cap goes to 90-92M in 2024 I would say that's seiders deal of 7-8M then Raymond can get perrons money at $5M on a 3 year bridge deal eventually buyout Justin Holl, these guys make things work in the NHL I think Detroit's not in a place to say they couldn't afford Nylander, I even added Dumba at $5M which is not even a serious idea really so anyways we'll see but I think Detroit should get another big fish maybe but they look good just need a healthy year from their players.

Wings are staying the course, Nylander would be a great addition but would cost too much.

Too much cap and term for Dumba.
