Zero chance the Canes would retain 50% salary on all three players.

@Ruiner71 I believe that is why CHI is in the trade. CHI gets 1st, 3nd, 4th, 5th and 7th to retain 50%.

A team can only be retaining on three contracts at a time, Chicago is currently retaining 50% on Jake McCabe’s deal which means they have two left. This proposal has the Hawks retaining on four more contracts which is not allowed under the CBA.

Canes say no, and it’s not even close. The only conversation starter where Slavin is involved is if Matthews is being traded back to the Canes. Otherwise the Canes have no interest whatsoever.
