Yea they'll take the pressure off one another. I don't think it's good idea to just ice one tough guy if a team goes that route, he'll put all the pressure on himself to fulfill that role.

I forgot about him. It depends on whether or not Treliving likes him. As the 7th D he's a good option to have.

Bryson, Pilot, Clague, and Firztgerald played 132 games last season.
Clifton, E Johnson and now with Brodie Buffalo would have upgraded the defense and AHL defensemen would rarely play for the Sabres.

Brodie would be a great addition if offered, it would be difficult for me to understand why the Sabres would refuse this deal.
