I think there’s been a slight improvement. Although I think Holloway starts in the top 9, broberg starts at 3rd pair rd, and nuge stays in the top six. Nemo and Pederson will be in bako and be the first recall options.

Bouch is going to get at least a mil more and McLeod will likely be around 2 mil so they’ll go with a 21 man roster.

I like Bouchard a lot. Think he'll become a 1D maybe even as soon as this year. They're contenders for sure.

They are definitely contenders. I may not see a huge improvement, but this team was close last year. A few extra saves from Skinner and it could have been the Oilers instead of Vegas. Skinner definitely can do those saves.

The depth is an issue, yes for sure. The defense with Ekholm is better and looks better if Bouchard improves. Skinner looked good in regular season and needs to keep that going. Part of it is belief. But with any rookie goalie, they can get worse the next year. If so can Campbell rebound, hard to say because Toronto had an underated defense at blocking high danger changes that helped Campbell look better than he was. It the high danger chances that hurts Campbell. If all goes well, as shown with playoffs, they can contend and are close but at the same time. What if Bouchard, or Skinner has the sophomore curse. What if Ekholm is injured of draisatl or nurse or worse McDavid. The depth as you mentioned can definitely pose an issue.
