I don't think any leafs fan wanted him to leave in the first place, just the cap being the issue.

The Canes trade doesn't help the Leafs with their cap issues, and it doesn't help them on the ice. Foote and Jones were just recently waived and unclaimed really aren't NHL Dmen

Not this trade. They didn't sign Bunting only to trade him away. And take back a piece they don't need. I'm not against a framework for a Pesce-Nylander trade. In fact, I've advocated for it. A good old fashioned hockey trade. But you added a wrong piece to each side. We have no interest in Lilj as a Pesce replacement and we're not shipping out Bunting already. Try, try again.
