I'm trying to follow. I think I understand what you're trying to do, which is clear cap space for Kane and Pesce. However, I don't think Kane makes sense for this team. That's what Duchene is here for. I also don't see Dallas giving away those 1st or 3rd round picks, plus Bourque, Grushnikov and Marchment.

From a Dallas perspective, for Pesce, I think you could offer something like a 2024 1st + Bourque + Faksa and Hakanpaa (for cap reasons).

Even then, I don't know that Carolina accepts.

A Pesce trade would be for big game hunting. EK, Nylander, Lindholm. And please stop with the Hakanpaa. Don't need another depth D.

Alright either this got changed or I am confusing it with every other Dallas offer that included Hakanpaa. My bad if I missed it. On the other hand, my main point was that we would not move Pesce unless it was for a big piece. If this is part of a 3-way that gets us that big fish, so be it. But not a stand-alone deal. And as much as we are loaded with D, we have 13 forwards on the roster. So we don't have room for any more unless it is a star player. Then we're moving 1 or 2 out. There is really very limited trade situations left with the Canes now.

I promise I didn't change it but someone did mention trading Hakanpaa in the thread. I've seen your D and even without Pesce, Hakanpaa doesn't do anything for y'all. You make all good points, I trust you're much more knowledgeable than I about the Canes roster. I will say I could easily see this trade if y'all were trying to make a move as it loads you guys up with more tradeable assets than just Pesce and saves just a bit of cap. This gives you a grade A prospect, a still valuable bottom six shutdown center (maybe 500k overpaid, but not much), and a 1st/3rd round pick you can now barter with. Could easily see y'all use some or all of this package to land a really big fish.

Package it in a 3-way trade for Lindholm, Nylander, or EK and it becomes plausible. Now I can't speak for Calgary, Toronto, or SJ but I am local to the Canes and an STM.
