Boston Bruins - My Changes

Created by: loganreid
Team: 2017-18 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2017
Published: Jun. 28, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Gonna do an armchair GM of each team. Hopefully get 1 per day. I don't necessarily know pairings, so please forgive me. Just trying to think logistically what each team could do this offseason.

I could also see Grezelcyk on the team this year on the bottom pair.

Pasta making the same as Spooner? How does that make any sense? Pasta was top 10 in goals and top 20 in points....Spooner is barley top 200 in points. On top of that Spooner was benched by the team in the playoffs in favor of a rookie who spent most of the season in the AHL.

Bridge contract vs Contract looking to keep a player around for a few more years. If Kucherov didn't get 5M, I don't see Pastrnak getting it. Especially since Boston is slightly hindered for cap. He's not getting a 6M-7M deal.

When the extension gets announced I think you'll be surprised. Boston has already said their working on a long-term extension and not a bridge deal. Pasta's agent has come out and given comps of what their looking for and its in the 6x6 range. My bigger issue though is Spooner at $4 million. Spooner isn't worth that much and as of now Boston is looking to move on from him.

Kucherov is playing for a stanely cup contender with huge cap issues, Pasta represents the the Bruins future and locking him in at a reasonable price for long term is much more important. Also why would an already aging, fringe playoff team bring in an aging old star at that price? None of this makes much sense to me, the team doesn't really improve at all and just adds more questions to come along with a decent group of you FA's for next year.

Pastrnak will get the standard potential elite player contract coming out of ELC, which is 6x6. I doubt he'll take anything less than 6.

Yeah there's no way Pasta is taking a bridge deal. I think Sweeney wants to lock him up now before his price tag is astronomical. With that, I think that means Marleau would be too far out of their price range, but I do like that idea of bringing him in. Nesterov is interesting and could be what they're looking for, but I can't help but compare him to Andrej Meszaros, who didn't work out so well. On Beleskey, I doubt Sweeney will give up on him just yet.

wait, other than Stamkos, you think drouin was Tampa's best player HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAA. Kucherov and Hedman were and are both better than Drouin. "C'mon man snap out of it!!!" Lightning should be a playoff team next season

Because it's only a 1 year deal and he would improve them team over Belesky or trying to use Vatrano or Cehlarik. That's be an amazing deal for the Bruins to get Marleau (if it's just for a year)

Yep! Hedman is easily the best player on Tampa IMO. I'd arguably put Kucherov over Stamkos even. That was a team playing with half an AHL team last year with injuries. They'll be back in the playoffs and contending if they stay healthy.
