RHP and Slaf are NHL guys though. They deserve a spot, especially RHP

You have Armia on the lineup over both Slaf and RHP, that's just a baffling decision.

Armia been a bit pissy over in Finland. Might be something cooking..

Im fine with Slaf and Barron in the minors to start but HP sauce absolutely deserves his shot right away after that performance last season. You can't NOT reward him.

If Slaf gets top line minutes in the AHL I'd be more than happy, I think he's going to come back strong and have a solid year indicative of the progress he has made and the player he will become, but also I'd rather he get 1st line minutes in Laval rather than a 4 or 3rd line role in the NHL.

For RHP (Or RHB as I have heard him be called), he has absolutely earned a spot, if he can keep the chemistry he had last year with just Suzuki, and then build that up with Caufield, he should be the first line winger the second Monahan gets traded.

If you don't mind explaining what's going on in Finland with Army?

truth is hoffman will get traded and armia has to win a job in camp else he goes to laval. And that is fair.. So if harvey or farrell outshine armia then he goes down... but hoffman produce at a 42 pt pace last year and at 50% retention someone will bite during camp or montreal will add a fourth rounder and then someone will bite. At 2.25 mil a 42 pt player is a bargain and the pick is just gravy... I can see him in chic or SJ or Ana or Ari.

Hoffman gone and armia in minors leaves room for Harvey and ylonen in the lineup the way it should be.

You guys are way off lmfao
I hate Hoffman & Armia, but they are never healthy scratch
They don’t have a spot to earn, they have a spot to lose
But still, there’s no way they are buried in the AHL. I just can’t see it.
Hoffman half retained + us sending a 4th for future compensation …. That makes ZERO sense, you don’t retain half a contract and sending a pick to make a roster spot for someone. Those someone are waivers exempt, they can start in Laval & get recall when an injury occur. I don’t think this is going to be the line up for opening night, every year there is injuries during training camp + preseason games

and now he is traded as i knew he was going to be gone.. such doubters but hughes has managed every task set for him.. with hoff and pitlick gone they now can play ylonen and Harvey pinard.. and petry will get them a high draft pick if we retain 50% at the deadline.

Masterclass move by Hughes, but :

Monahan-Suzuki-Caufield
Newhook-Dach-Anderson
Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pezzetta-Evans-Armia
Ylönen

Matheson-Savard
Guhle-Petry (if he stays)
Xhekaj-Harris
Kovacevic
Wideman (maybe waive Wideman?)

Montembeault
Allen
DeSmith (maybe waive instead of Wideman?)

So I would expect RHP & Barron to be sent in the NHL if everyone’s healthy

yes but remember dvorak will miss a few weeks and then someone else will get hurt and so RHP will not go to laval.....plus slaf is going to need to show in camp that he is ready else he might start in laval which i think is the best idea for his confidnece to play in all situations and get on a roll when he is called up. I will say this RHP has will and he will be on the team....if not injuries then another trade will happen. RHP has nothing to learn in laval.. he is ready

I know Dvorak won’t start the year in MTL, but when he is back & everyone else are healthy, they won’t make a trade only because RHP is NHL ready lol I know there’s always injuries & he might never go back in Laval, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he does

Slafkovsky wasn’t ready last year & management kept him up all year. Can’t see them sending him down now

my line would be

Caufield suzuki and Dach
Slafkovsky Monahan Gallagher
RHP Newhook Anderson
pezzetta and Evans Ylonen
Armia this way i would see what newhook could do as a center but when Dvorak comes back i would put newhook in the top 6 on the wing... also Dach was awesome on the top line and as long as we have Monahan Dach can stay on the top line

I believe hughes can do anything after he traded Hoffman with no retention so I think he trades Armia that is the obvious move
