No way a team with Stamkos - Kuch - Point - Hedman - Vasi - sergachev -cerelli - etc is falling to 6th

Those guys are certainly enough to get you to the playoffs.

I like this list I think it is pretty accurate at this point in time. Myself personally I’d maybe put NJD over CAR although I know that’s not the popular opinion. I think they’re really close and have a good chance of sneaking past CAR

TB depth is not bad at all. Barring any serious long term injuries, I can't see them outside of the top 3 for a while.

I can see them in 4th at WC1 spot if it were a tight race, but I can’t see them missing the playoffs as they are still a great team

Don’t forget having Vasy, even though he wasn’t as good last playoffs he was still better than most goalies

Can’t see Detroit ahead of Ottawa when Ottawa has better forwards, defensemen, and goaltending

Fair point on Smith

While Ottawa’s 4th line is suspect, their 3rd line will be really strong so I think I may give them the edge in the bottom 6

The top pair is close for both teams, but the rest of Ottawams defense is quite a bit better imo

I’d take Ottawa’s goalies. Neither Korpisalo or Husso are that good, but Korpisalo was better last year so I’d give the edge to him right now. I’d also say Forsberg is a much better backup than Reimer

Understandable. I disagree on the bottom-6, and the top pairing.
Although Tarasenko will help spread even, you're (likely) relying a lot on Grieg and/or Pinto. You can argue how good they are, but you can't argue their inexperience. I'm also not too high on them, but what can I say. As for top-pairing, I have no doubts that our top-pairing will be better. That pairing was phenomenal up until the whole team started tanking; they wear a casualty and not a causality of that.

As for goaltending, Husso was very good in the earlier half of the year. It wasn't until post-TDL and a very apparent injury when his stats literally plummeted. I'm not big on Reimer, but I do think that, given Husso's inevitable reduction in games played (as he truly is better as a tandem goalie), we'll see him separate himself from Korpisalo.

I think TBL got worse whereas most team got significantly better (minus Florida and Ottawa but Ottawa had their 2C play 3 games all year), losing Killorn and Colton won't be made up by adding Sheary,
