Buffalo passes. I'd be interested, but not involving Ostlund

It's interesting that you picked leinonen. We took him as the first goalie off the board, and I think a lot of people thought it was a bad pick. There's questions about his weight, I think only one nhl goalie played heavier than him in his draft year (i wanna say freddie anderson) and his numbers have been horrific since he was drafted. I know goalies dont exactly have a short predictable learning curve, but leinonen seems like a curious target.

Habs just drafted 3 goalies and they shouldn't be battling for a playoff spot for 3-4yrs, why make that trade the Goalies stats aren't mind blowing?
Just be patient and sign decent ones like Allen until the team is really ready to compete and hopefully one shows signs of being a #1.

If the Canadiens were to pitch such a trade to Buffalo, it seems like asking for Leinonen would be more of a smokescreen in order to really land the more coveted prospect in Ostlund in a package.

I would probably do that deal, Barron has top pair potential at RD, at worst top 4.

I kinda figured it was barron for ostlund, and then ylonen for a big raw goalie prospect. Ostlund is certainly a nice prospect, but barron would be a very nice addition too.
