If The Blues Decide to Rebuild by the Trade Deadline

Created by: Hockyluv21
Team: 2023-24 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2023
Published: Jul. 29, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the Blues have a rebound year, they would obviously try to keep their mid-20s star pile in tact, but if they crash and burn, I wonder if they may consider this, especially since Jarvis is within the age range of the new crop of Blues coming through the next few drafts.

why would STL do this? they have half a roster they would move before Kyrou.

Many of St. Louis's worst contracts are currently immovable. I would imagine that if St. Louis has another terrible year that they would go for a full rebuild, and someone like Kyrou would get a mammoth return that IMO Carolina should pay.

Doesn’t make any sense for either team. Value-wise that’s a huge overpay by Carolina. At the same age as Jarvis, kyrou wasn’t even an NHL hockey player: I personally would be hesitant to trade Jarvis 1-for-1 for kyrou.

Even if we ignore the trade, Kyrou was on that Canadian WJC team... I wouldn't touch anyone from that class before we know the outcome

Kyrou wasn't at the event that night. He wasn't even in the same city. I don't know why the Canes would give up a lot of assets when they can see if Jarvis can replicate Kyrou production this season and I don't know why the blues would trade Kyrou when he is still young enough to be apart of their rebuild

So he says, but I'd still wait for the conclusion of this until I'd consider anything for that WJC class...

My proposal was a deadline trade, specifically if Jarvis still wasn't cutting it in the top-6.

Ah ok, if Jarvis wasn't cutting it in the top 6 then I don't think the blues trade Kyrou. He's a young offensively scoring winger who sucks at defense. He is young enough to be a part of the rebuild so there isn't really any reason for us to trade him unless it is to get a similar aged defensemen for him. Packaging him for prospects doesn't make sense. If we do want to trade him, might as well get rid of Thomas as well cause they are a year apart

What on Earth are you babbling about? He physically, factually was not in town at the time of the event. It's a verified fact. This is not Now You See Me 3, FCOL. He's not a master criminal magician.

Yes. "I would imagine" is the perfect way to describe this whole concept.

I'd still wait. Just because there's no certainty it was a one night event with that WJC squad... I'd rather wait and find out later

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but this whole "so he says" attitude is pure nonsense. He was literally not in the same city. Everyone knows this. It's not some trick he's pulling.

Factual reality says so. This is not difficult.
