Pretty sure Boston declines that second one. You over value Hanifin by alot. Not sure on the first one.

If you get rid of vladar and swayman that's probably about right for value. Just depends what you think Swayman can bring back I guess.

The deal for Lindholm is close if you're going off of what Horvat got. That Hanfin deal though isn't something Boston would do.

Agreed. Swayman has a bunch more value than Vladar. Vladar doesn't really have any.

Lindholm is better than Horvat and Calgary would not be interested in a rental winger as a cornerstone of a Lindholm trade. Unlike Vancouver, Calgary does not have a legitimate 1C to fill in Lindholm's place after a trade so Calgary would be forced into rebuilding

110% agree with that. Swayman is a 24 year old goaltender, who is capable of being an NHL Starter now. You wouldn’t give up Matt Grzelcyk, Jeremy Swayman, a 1st, and a 3rd for a great defender and a meh goalie. Swayman could get a good return, starting with a 1st.

Calgary is not rebuilding and needs to replace their #1 C if they trade him.

Calgary current situation probably has them decline the other trade as well.

In truth, Boston doesn't have what it will take to get Lindholm but you could probably get Backlund

Similar production, similar in the dot, both guys are good defensively. There isn't a significant difference in value between the two. DeBrusk may not be a "rental" he very well could be a long-term piece with an extension. DeBrusk is as much of a rental as Lindholm is.

Did you call Horvat good defensively? He's literally a defensive liability. Come on man. Also production does not equal offensive output. Over the previous 5 years Horvat has an average S% of 13.6% which is fairly reasonable for a goal scorer. Last year when playing in Vancouver he had a 21.7 S%. That is a dramatic increase that is almost certainly an outlier. He also only has 2 seasons where he's reached 60 points and 1 where he's hit 70. Lindholm has 3 seasons over 60 points, 1 over 80, and 1 just under 80. This is like saying Sean Couturier and Ryan Strome are close in skill.

DeBrusk being a rental or not does not change the fact that he does not help Calgary solve their new center issue. Not sure how you missed that point completely in my last post. There are no other centers on the market any time soon that can replace what Lindholm does for the Flames so if Calgary is to move him the by far best option is to trade him for purely futures and draft high in the next 2-3 years

Lindholm is better than Horvat

I think most people would rather have Lindholm over Horvat. I like both these guys, but Lindholm is a better defensive forward.

Obviously Calgary would love to keep this guy, but if he doesn't intend on staying in Calgary, Boston is a realistic destination for Lindholm.

I actually like this signing of Kessel too, league minimum for a good luck charm.
