Don’t think that’s enough to make the caps pull the trigger. Value is fine but no reason for the caps to move him

Pens are 3+mil over the cap. We got issues to work out. Can't be taking on cap

Washington doesn't do the 1st trade, Edmonton doesn't do the other two. They're both terrible value for the Oilers.

I didn’t watch him at all last year I just remember him being Hedmans partner and Tampa really not wanting to lose him but unable to pay the price. He fell off last year?

That’s kind of what I was thinking but wondering if they’d rather go younger with pederson

Duclair is an upgrade on Foegele and Benning is an upgrade on Desharnais

No, he's still a fine player, but with how bad Nurse looked in the playoffs I would not want Rutta as his partner.

You traded Broberg though, not Desharnais. Holland wouldn't include Broberg in a Chychrun deal, why trade him (with other stuff) for a 3rd line winger and a 3rd pairing defensemen?

Oh, and Foegele >> Duclair last year.

Should the caps be bad this season he makes a lot of sense to trade. Best 4C in the league on a cheap deal. Could get a decent return

Yes he was better I agree. But Duclair was coming back very late from an Achilles tear. Had to gain his confidence back. I think he’ll be back to form this year. The year before last year he was a very solid top 6 player. He would be competing with Brown for the top 6 spot. Broberg I just don’t see as ever being more than a bottom pairing guy so might as well trade him for a very established better right now player on a cheap 3 year deal and keeping Desharnais as the 7th dman.

I think expecting Duclair to be "back to (career high shooting percentage) form" for the next 3 years is a fools errand. How's his defensive game?

Also, Broberg: 6'3, 200, skates like the wind, posted a 58.65 xGF% as a 21-year-old, and you "just don’t see as ever being more than a bottom pairing guy"? I think your eyes are the problem, not the player.
