If you think that you’re getting Milano for less than this you’re wrong. Caps aren’t trading him and especially not for this deal.

I think if you dropped the 2nd it would be fair. However, I don't see any reason for either team to make the trade right now. Perhaps at the deadline Washington would be open to moving Dowd.

Not a good trade for the caps. Would rather have Milano than Foegele (could be biased but hes cheaper and they had similar production.

For Milano? Well the caps just signed him to an extension that kicked in a month ago, so they’re not gonna move him. It’s bad business. A 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft would probably be the ask, not a pick 3 years from now.

Dowd? As mentioned by other commenters, probably more of a deadline move if anything. Probably a couple of third round picks or a future second at the deadline. Don’t see them moving him right now though with the caps trying to be competitive.
